Update on Us

It's been a while since I've done an update, so here it is! We are all doing good. Mark and I are doing a bible study at church called "Experiencing God" and it is really good. We are hoping that this study helps us get closer to God and helps us to meet some people at our church since we are still pretty new to this church. I've also been pretty consistant with doing a bible study with the kids. They love it! And it's helping me learn a lot myself. Like for instance, I never knew that in Genesis when God was giving the serpent his punishment for deceiving Eve, God gave the first prophecy of Christ. That was so cool to realize that! We've painted a chalk board on our dining room wall, so the kids can sit at the dining room table while I do the bible study with them. I write their weekly memory verse on there, and they recite it everyday and usually by Thursday they are suppose to memorize it. Markie is pretty good at memorizing it, but Ricky has difficulties memorizing it. I think it has something to do with his learning disability, but I also think part of it is laziness on his part. He can watch TV and repeat commericals and cartoon scripts, but can't remember a 1 or 2 sentence memory verse? So we've limited TV, so that he can concentrate on the more important things. He gets too absorbed by that TV.

The kids are all doing good. Ben is pretty much potty trained, but he seems to go through spurts where he'll pee and poo his pants all day, then not for days. Hopefully he'll overcome that SOON! Markie just finished the Reading Recovery program at school. They feel she has learned to read sufficiently enough on her own to not need that program anymore. She has improved a lot in her reading, I hardly have to help her anymore (except for the big words, of course). Ricky is learning a lot in school. He still has some set backs, but is doing great considering his learning disability. He can add double digit numbers, which he couldn't even add when we got him, so that is a major accomplishment for him. He just has a problem staying focused. He'll do great when he begins his math homework, but after the first 10 problems you can tell his focus declines. We are going to send him to a counselor to see what we can do to help him in that area. Charlotte is tooting along like a big girl. She is learning so much from the older kids, it's making her grow up way to fast for mama! The kids love playing hide and seek and I seen Charlotte standing with her face against the wall, trying to count like the big kids, it was so cute! I have a work out video that Markie likes to play once in a while and do the workout moves and Charlotte sometimes does them too. It's so funny to watch. Ricky has taught her how to say "Thank You", but she doesn't actually say it, she just kind of hums it. She's not going to be a baby for much longer!

I get to go back to work on Monday after a 2-1/2 month layoff. I am happy about it, but at the same time, I enjoyed being at home. But according to Mark, people at work are really missing me answering the phones so they don't have to, lol. And the toner needed replaced in the copier and they told him I was the only one who knew how to change it, lol. Which is true, that thing is a pain in the butt to change (and messy) so everyone avoids learning how to do it. So now that I am going back to work, Mark is laid-off. Go figure! I think it will only be for a week though (I hope). It will be nice to have him home though when I get home from work. Usually it's just me and the kids. So it will be nice to have some help in the evenings (for a week at least).

We are currently remodeling our living room, since the foster care agency says we have to. It's been unfinished for about 7 years now, so I am glad to finally get it going again. The only real problem the foster care agency had with it was the 2 wall that were alreay re-drywalled had a 4" gap by the floor where we were going to put trim up. The lady said she didn't want anyone getting their toes caught in it. OOOOKKKKKAAAYYYY, that isn't really possible, but whatever. The state will pay for $500 of it, so that will help a lot. I am so glad to finally get to decorate my living room. In the 7 years we've lived here, I haven't been able to do much with the living room since it needed to be remodeled, so it's just been kind of blah. Now I get to pick out colors for it, carpet, and I'm starting to buy wall decor here and there so when it's finished I can start hanging stuff up. I can't wait!

Anyway, that's what's been going on with us! Thanks for reading!!

Bible Study Time!

I had orginally started this blog to post some bible studies that I have been doing. I have neglected that part for some time now. It's time I get back to that. I need to do more bible studies. God has blessed me so much with great and wonderful people to help me out when times seem tough. The least I can do is give Him as much of my time as I can. Today I had a Leep and a D&C done. Mark had to go to work and I had to watch the 2 younger ones while I was recovering. My neighbor Debbie watched Ben for me while Charlotte napped so that I could rest a bit. I told her to go ahead and bring him home when Markie and Ricky get out of school, that would give me plenty of time to rest (about 2hrs.). So she picked up Markie and Ricky from the bus stop and dropped them off and chit chatted for a while. Then she went home and called me about 5-10 minutes later to tell me that she wants to take the kids to McDonalds to eat and let them play in the playscape for a while so that I could rest some more. How great is she? I tried to give her money to pay for the kids food, which she refused to take. I really strongly feel like God has given us Debbie to be there to help us when we need it. She has truly been a huge blessing to my family and I appreciate her more than she will ever know. I decided that since I had this extra time alone, I needed to spend it in God's word. So I went through some verses that our Pastor gave us during his sermon and added what I have learned from those verses, so I just thought I would share and try to put this time alone God has given me to help spread his message. So enjoy! And I pray that this really helps others!

Fall pictures coming soon!

I plan on taking the kids out to the campground hopefully this weekend to get some nice fall pictures of them. We were out there last weekend and went on a hay ride and I know the perfect spot to take the kids pictures. It's right by the water with the beautiful colorful tree's in the background. I can't wait! I wanted to do it this weekend since it was gorgeous out, but the kids were seperated and we just didn't have the time. But I will definitely try to get it done this weekend and get them posted. I am also taking Markie and Ricky to a cider mill and meeting Lori there, so hopefully I will get some good fall pics there too, but I am not taking Ben or Charlotte, this trip is just for the older ones. So for now, just scroll down to see recent pics and updates on all the kiddos! Leave a comment and let me know you stopped by! Thanks for looking and reading! God Bless!!

After much searching....

I am finally going to post pictures!!! I had to search all over the place for my USB cord, but I finally found it. So I am going to post some pictures along with updates on each of the kids. Thanks for looking!!

It's been awhile!

I have been so busy lately, I haven't had time to make any updates. Doesn't really matter anyways since nobody has visited since my last update, lol.

All is going good around here. The kids are getting along fine. Ricky has started school and is doing ok. He is cognitive impaired which means he has a hard time learning and thinking. It's pretty evident when I ask him questions like "What did you do in school today". He says he can never remember and he can't think of anything. Hopefully we can help him improve in that area. I've been working with him and Markie every night before bed on their writing, reading, and spelling. I am going to add Math in the mix pretty soon. I also need to add bible verses. I've been slacking on that and I don't like it! I have some first day of school pics that I will post soon, but not right now because I am just too lazy, lol. Plus I feel like I might be coming down with something. I sure hope not, but that seems to be the way it is lately. I was really hoping to get my lawn mowed since it hasn't been mowed in a couple of weeks (like 4, I think, lol). Thankfully it's not looking too shaggy yet. I really hope I don't some down with something. I had also planned on taking the kids to the back to school bash city hall was having tomorrow. It's free fun, and with 4 kids now, free is my middle name!!

I might also let Nick spend the night tomorrow again. He spent the night last week and really liked it here. He cried himself to sleep at my mom's because he wanted to come back here. He just likes having all the kids around. He's use to chaos and at my mom's he doesn't have that. He sees it here, lol. He is such a sweet heart. He called me twice this week. He told me the first time he called that he wanted me to pray for him to stop having nightmares and to pray for his mom because everytime he talks to her she complains about how sick she feels. He said he keeps praying to God and nothing changes and that he feels God isn't hearing him. I just wanted to give him a big hug. I reassured him that God does hear him, it's just that our prayers aren't always going to be answered the way we want them to because God knows better than we do. I told him that this might be God's way of letting him live up here and getting to know all of us. I didn't really want to tell him that God has him living up here so he can have a better life. He thinks his life was just fine down there. So I guess we'll just let him keep thinking that. Just show him a better life up here. Then the next day he called me back all excited to say that he didn't have any nightmares and when he talked to his mom, she said she was feeling better! I was so glad to hear that. And he was so happy. Then he said that when he goes to bed he is going to do 50 push-ups then he's going to pray. I thought that was cute and funny! He's a good kid, I hope he stays that way!!

Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll update soon (or at least I will try). I want to get some recent pics on here to, so I can share my cute kids with you all, lol. So take care, thanks for reading, and God Bless!!

I am going to try to keep up

I am going to try to start making a better effort on posting here. I would really like to add some pictures of the kids and do more bible studies and just a lot more things on here. Markie's last day of school is tomorrow, so maybe I will be able to keep up in the mornings since I don't have to get her ready anymore. But then again, I am going to start cleaning the office at work for extra money so I have to leave about 30-45 minutes early everyday. I might be stretching myself thin. I don't know. I do feel that with the 3 kids, I have more energy now then I did when I just had 1. Maybe that's because you cannot be lazy when you have more than 1 or 2 kids. I admit, I was lazy when I had Markie and even when I had Ben. But I am no longer lazy. Heck I just went outside and was raking dirt, wet heavy dirt! That was a workout, especially in the sun, but I look at it this way...I am getting a tan and losing some weight! Double whammy!! We are trying to make a patio around the back porch so we can have a enjoyable backyard. I would love to sit out there while the kids play, but right now that is no so appealing when I have nowhere to sit and ants and all kinds of bugs crawl all over me. I will try to take pictures and keep you all updated on our progress. Mark bought a template for the cement so we can make our own bricks. It's pretty cool. He already made one set and it turned out pretty neat looking. I'll try to get some pics taken and posted. So that's all I got for right now. Talk to you all soon!

When will I have time??

I've haven't had time to post on here. It's been a busy last couple of weeks. The only reason I have time to post today is because the kids and I had to skip church since Ben and Markie were up puking through the night. Mark was tending to Markie (after I cleaned up her puke off of her and the couch twice) and I tended to Ben (cleaned his puke off the couch once). It's has been a rough couple of days. Friday night Charlotte was sick, so I only got 3 hours of sleep because of that. Seems like something is going around. Hopefully I don't catch it! I was just laid off last week and it would really suck if I call in the first day I am due back. We shall see!

Hopefully I will be able to sit down and post some deals since I've been lacking in that area for the past month or so! But as for now...I am off to do some laundry!

Here I am

I've been MIA again. Seems like that is going to be the norm on here as far as the weekend goes. I don't have time during the weekends to get on here. That's kind of odd, since the weekends are when I am not working. I don't even have time to clean my house on the weekends. I think that's because since I have a routine during the week that I am pretty good at keeping up on, that when the weekend comes around I just take that time to rest and spend time with my family and sometimes friends. I often wake up on Monday mornings with my house a complete disaster area. I've decided to not care about it. I get home Monday evening and cook dinner for the kids and after they go to bed is when I catch up on the housework. And since I have a routine going, I can get my stuff done pretty quick and still have time to get on the computer, and assemble some parts for some extra money.

Today was a little trying though. I was trying to get dinner made when Markie was asking 1000 questions, Ben was trying to escape (he's a master escape artist now), and Charlotte was at my feet crying. I finally get everyone's plates assembled and we had a nice little dinner. Charlotte is eating table food now, even though she still has no teeth. But she does really good with chewing and I make sure she eats soft stuff, so it works great for both of us! After dinner is done, I try to do some cleaning. Markie, meanwhile, is begging for something to drink. For some weird reason when I get dinner together I hate making the drinks. I don't know why that is. It's just laziness I guess. Anyway, I am trying to clean and Markie is being impatient and I am trying to keep my cool. I put down the bowl of green beans that is left over from dinner, stop what I am doing, to get princess Markie something to drink and I open the cupboard, grab a cup, put the stack of extra cups back and BAM! They fall out of the cupboard into the green bean bowl and splashes green beans everywhere!! Oh, what a day! I am very suprised I have remained cool throughout it all.

I do have one highlight of my day though.... I got 2 free tubs of huggies wipes in the mail!! And I mean tubs, not the little single travel packs kind. I am doing an online survey where I have to use the wipes for 10 days each and do another survey about the wipes. I can handle that for some free wipes!! How about sending me some free diapers now?? I could use some of those!! Doesn't take much to make me happy these days, huh?

Been MIA

I haven't been on in a while. I am sure I have been missed seeing how NOBODY has stopped by since my last entry, lol. I am not even sure if my last entry was read! Oh well! I'll keep typing and talking to my myself! I've just been real busy with the kids and cleaning. I have some deals that I plan on posting soon. Maybe in a minute if the kids cooperate long enough.

I went to the Dr.'s today because my knees have been killing me from all the walking I have been doing. The Dr. said that I have bruised cartliges (sp?). He gave me a prescription for something, but I doubt I'll get it filled. I can deal with the pain. I'll just try to slow it down with the walking. Anyway, that's all I got to say for now. Post to you soon!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been pretty busy yesterday and today. I finally get a minute to make a post (kids are napping - - YAY!). I was a witness at a wedding yesterday at the Lapeer County Clerk's office. My friend Alexa (she was pg with me, our babies are 2 wks apart) was getting married and she asked me to be her witness. It was quick and simple! Then we went out to dinner afterwards. I was exhausted after all that (I had to leave straight from work to the Clerk's office). I got home and didn't do a thing!

This morning I decided to brave the stores with ALL 3 KIDS!! And it wasn't all that bad! Ben was a little booger when I tried to get him back in his carseat, but other than that they were all pretty good. I was suprised! I was so brave, that I ended up taking them to one more store. I thought I was pushing my luck, so I made it quick. I had to get Charlotte a bigger carseat since she is outgrowing her infant carrier. I wish I would of brought my camera because I had to stick the carseat in the back of the cart with Ben, so he sat in the carseat and kicked his legs up on the edge of the cart and just relaxed. It was so stinking cute! I bought the kids Mc-D's since they were so good. After we got home was when the chaos started - - go figure! But now the little ones are in bed napping and Markie is sitting here talking to me and driving me nuts, as usual ;)
